Pokemon Go News: Is There A Possibility Of Adding Shiny Pokemon To The Game?

Pokemon Go has been actively receiving rumors regarding the future additions to the game since it previously experienced a minor decline. As reported earlier, there are already several suggested features that fans want Niantic to consider. This includes Trainer Battles, Trading, Gen 2 and more. Currently, one topic has been circulating the internet which points out to a possibility of adding Shiny Pokemon to Pokemon Go.

According to Otakukart, the involvement of Shiny Pokemon has been active in previous Pokemon games. Shiny Pokemon have an edge on their stats particularly the HP. They tend to have bigger health compared to the normal type. These Pokemon also have unique color schemes which indicate that they are Shiny. Based on the report, Shiny Pokemon first appeared on Ruby where it was first rumored as a glitch. In addition, there is also a theory that if you reset the game multiple times, you will likely encounter Shiny Pokemon. However, there are no solid evidence supporting the theory.

The addition of Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go might not be happening, according to Otakukart. It is because the game was handled by a different developer. Niantic has been doing all the texture, 3d modeling and animations in Pokemon Go. Gamefreak just simply licensed Pokemon to them in order to create the mobile app. Shiny Pokemon were not also intended in the first place that means there is a low chance of Niantic considering the idea.

Additionally, it is not necessary for Niantic to pay their developers some extra money to add these Pokemon which is basically a waste of time. However, if Niantic will consider the idea, the integration of Shiny Pokemon would be possible via Pokemon update. As of now, there are still no signs coming from Niantic at this point.
