NBA Early MVP Candidates: Is Steph Curry In With His Performance Last Night?

It's only the third week of NBA season; however, many players have already showcased their excellence in the court. Some of them were former MVP's and some of them are rising stars.

When the NBA Season started, there are names considered synonymous to the word "MVP", such as the back to back and first Unanimous MVP last year, Stephen Curry. We also have the four-time MVP and the leader of the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James. Right now, there are a lot of names that are knocking on the prestigious award. The only question left is who would get it straight to the basket this time around?

List Of Possible NBA MVP Candidates

Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook - He blossomed due to the departure of the former MVP, Kevin Durant.

Damian Lillard from Portland Trailblazer - He was described by TNT Analyst Kenny Smith as a fierce and tough competitor.

San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard -  The former Finals MVP in the Mix and quiet assassin from the Alamo who showed as-a-matter-of-factly why he deserves to be in the conversation of this year's MVP list.

Blake Griffin and James Harden - These two are also making noise in trying to capture this year's Most Valuable Player award.

Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant -  He is said to be the newly acquired superstar of GSW.

Stephen Curry - With his trailblazing performance last night, the reigning MVP earned his rightful spot on our list (once again.)

Anthony Davis - He alone provides massive numbers; although his team haven't won any game yet.

Team Record Or Personal Record?

We all know that the basis for the Most Valuable Player award is the team's performance. Since the inaugural NBA MVP award in 1955, the association kept it simple on who to crown once the season ends. A lot of players are salty about it but it's just the way it is. We've seen numerous NBA players breaking each and every category in their team or in the NBA however their team just can't get out of the hole. This is the dilemma that Anthony Davis is facing right now. A certified superstar but couldn't carry his team due to lack of support.
