'Deadpool 3' Already Confirmed As ‘Deadpool 2’ Is In The Works; Third Movie To Feature Deadpool And X-Force Crossover

While the Twentieth Century Fox is reportedly still looking for a filmmaker for "Deadpool 2," latest updates reveal that the studio is already mapping out its plans for "Deadpool 3." The more surprising news came with the high possibility of featuring X-Force in the third installment of the movie franchise.

"Deadpool" has been the highest grossing R-Rated film of all time with a total of $782.6 million global sales. With the box office success that it enjoyed, a sequel was immediately confirmed in April. However, "Deadpool 2" lost its director Tim Miller last month over a feud with lead star Ryan Reynolds. This also becomes one of the reasons why its supposed production in January 2017 is now on hold. Yet, while the sequel is still courting David Leitch to take the director's seat, plans for "Deadpool 3" are already confirmed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources revealed that the third installment of the "Deadpool" franchise is to take X-Team/X-Force on board. Avid fans may recall that an X-Force move has long been rumored to be underway. However, in an era where crossovers and mashups are seemingly more important than the solo movies, X-Force is being planned to be introduced on the big screen together with Deadpool. This was also confirmed in the past by Ryan Reynolds when he said that a crossover project will be their priority in the future. Apparently, the plan pushes through with "Deadpool 3."

Per report, the seeds for the third installment will still be planted on "Deadpool 2." Thus, the production of the trilogy is expected to start soon after the sophomore film is done. "Deadpool 2" will actually debut one of the mutant members of X-Force, Cable. The character is a time-traveling mutant as described in the comic book source. As the second installment will already start the crossover, it is very likely that the third film will feature the whole team of mutants.

Furthermore, producer Simon Kinberg also mentioned that the X-Force movie could be R-rated. Given that "Deadpool" was also R-rated, the two movies are falling together in the right place. The same report also mentioned that "Deadpool 3" is "readying a filmmaker search," thus hinting that the second and third installment will receive a different taste of directorial stints. With that said, a fresh take on plotlines can be expected.
