Nintendo Switch Release Update: Specs, Pricing, Game Titles Not Until 2017 [BUT] VR Gaming Hinted?

Nintendo Switch is slated to hit the console market next year along with the Microsoft Xbox Scorpio. This year's PlayStation 4 Pro, as well as the upcoming Scorpio, have already confirmed VR support. On that note, Nintendo is reportedly considering bringing in VR gaming to their next console.

Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima noted that VR gaming in their future devices is not impossible.  However, the team may need to carefully consider the system specifications that will be necessary to include this new feature, Kimishima added. The Nintendo head, however, kept mum on the specs, pricing and release date of the Nintendo Switch, saying that an announcement should be made by mid-January 2017.

The Nintendo Switch is also slated to feature games such as Skyrim, Splatoon, Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The latter was previously confirmed by Nintendo on the gaming console. The Switch is also expected to be more powerful than Wii U.

Recently, developers and publishers are notably rooting for the Nintendo Switch. Capcom recently addressed the issue of cross-platform games which can be played on high end consoles like the PS4, Xbox One and on the Nintendo Switch. Capcom also noted that there are differences in the play style and desired direction of the Switch than the other consoles.

Meanwhile, Capcom reportedly intends to support Nintendo on its latest project. The game company is said to refer to the Nintendo Switch as an excellent console with new hardware launches that will invigorate the market. Capcom is believed to be developing games especially for the hardware's features and target users.

The Nintendo Switch has also been noted to receive multiplatform implementation of software. The gaming company is also said to be considering which game titles to release on the platform to reveal its maximum potential. Cross-platform games are also considered.
