Nintendo Switch Launch Games Include Skyrim and a 3D Mario

The latest Nintendo Switch news reveals that the soon-to-be-released gaming console will include Skyrim: Special Edition, a new 3d Mario, and an extended version of Splatoon.

The inclusion of Skyrim as one of the game titles in the Nintendo Switch comes as no surprise since the launch trailer of the game console showed the man in the ad playing Skyrim while on a plane going somewhere. However, the news that it will be one of game titles included during the release date of the Nintendo Switch is a welcome surprise.

With the announcement, there's some level of curiosity whether Nintendo is using this to divert the attention away from the recent Legend of Zelda rumors. According to the rumor mills, Zelda won't be making it to the Nintendo launch date. Thus, is Skyrim's inclusion some sort of diversion tactic to appease disappointed fans?

Back to Skyrim, Bethesda announced that mods won't be available on the release date. However, the developer assured that they will be adding them along with other enhancements at a much later time.

For the Mario 3D game, reports said that there will be a demo press for it. The game will feature a 3D open world hub where players can select different worlds with different objectives. It will be similar to Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy.

Aside from that, there are also plans to bundle the most expensive Nintendo Switch SKU with Splatoon. One of the features they are planning is a one on one mode where players can fight over one map using separate Switches and will have the ability to switch their weapons at mid-game.

Nintendo hopes that the short match nature of Splatoon will be as successful on the Switch as it only allows players to engage in a full match multiplayer mode for a short period of time.
