Pokemon Sun And Moon Vs. Yo-Kai Watch 2: They Are Very Similar!

Pokemon Sun and Moon have just been released following the long wait. Yet soon after, Nintendo also launched another pair set of monster-collecting RPGs for 3DS - the Yo-Kai Watch 2. Based on reports, these games resemble a lot.

Although similar in many ways,Yo-Kai Watch 2 does not take advantage of the built-in audience and history of games like Pokemon Sun and Moon. Nevertheless, both games are reported to have a number of similarities in terms of design and formula. In fact, reports suggest that Yo-Kai Watch 2, including its 2015 predecessor, appears to be inspired by the Pokemon franchise, which actually created the genre that it resides.

Pokemon Sun and Moon and Yo-Kai Watch 2 take the players in the place of those who live in a world similar to their own, except for the monsters that run around that they need to capture. Both games are also packed with long segments of dialogue that deals with getting the player's attention in the characters and worlds instead of inventing the kind of world found in several role-playing games.

Moreover, the two games share the same objective of capturing, collecting and training the monster-like creatures that engage in battles on command. However, Pokemon Sun and Moon is expected to become more popular for those who prefer the happy memories of Mew, Charmander and Pikachu.

Meanwhile,  a new version of Pokemon Sun and Moon is set to launch for Nintendo Switch. According to reports, the game is now in the works, and will be launched in 2017 with a code name of Pokemon Stars.

With this, the earlier generations of the Pokemon games are expected to be revived, although the mainline Pokemon series covering the different Nintendo consoles will be seen within the same generation of games for the first time. Indeed, the Switch is going to be the first Nintendo home console that is reported to get a main Pokemon adventure after 20 years.
