iPhone 6s Shutting Down? Apple To Provide Free Battery Replacement

Users who are facing iPhone 6s shutting down even when there is enough charge, can now contact Apple as it could be a manufacturing issue. The problem is not widespread and is only present in some iPhone 6s units manufactured in September and October 2016.

According to Apple, there is nothing to worry about, and that all the affected units are eligible for a free battery replacement. The company posted a statement on its Asian website earlier today to announce the replacement program.

iPhone 6s Shutting Down?

As mentioned earlier, this is not a widespread problem and is only affecting certain devices carrying specific serial numbers. Several users have reported that their iPhone 6s would randomly shut down, despite it having plenty of charge left. Apple stated the following in a post, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This isn't a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured in September and October 2015.

To check whether an iPhone 6s is affected, the user would have to take the device to an Apple Store or Service Center. It will then be checked to see if the device is eligible for the free battery replacement. The problem can affect any iPhone 6s sold globally, therefore, the free battery replacement will be provided all over the world. Check out the Apple Support Site for more details on the program.

Customers who already got their faulty iPhone 6s fixed and had to pay a fee will get a refund for the full amount from Apple. The company also started a screen replacement program for another issue that caused an iPhone display to stop working. The latest product from Apple, iPhone 7, has also seen its fair share of issues. Looks like Apple is fixing everything so as to not leave the buyers angry.
