During the mid-season finale of "How to Get Away with Murder" season three, the most shocking revelations of all has occurred: Wes is dead. Throughout the span of the show's three seasons, deaths and killers have always been unexpected but it has never come to this level. One of the main characters of the show has just been killed off, and is one of the most loved on the show as well. However, according to writer Pete Nowalk, his death was just prt of the storyline and nothing against the character or the actor himself.

When Nowalk discussed Wes's death, he was just as devastated as the rest of the fans on of he show. When he created the mystery during the premiere, he hasn't decided yet that it is going to be Wes under that sheet. However, he has discussed with actress Viola Davis to place her character in a much darker place in her life. There was no other way to do that than to have Wes killed off, one whom she genuinely cares about. She is going to be in such a terrible place and is going to be doing terrible things to cope up with the pain. Nonetheless, the fans will still see Wes (Alfred Enoch) for the rest of the season, since the events prior to his death will be ultimately featured to figure out who killed him.
