Pokemon Go Update: Nearby Tracker Continues To Expand

Pokémon Go's nearby tracker is now rolling out across the world, and this updated tracking system allows Pokémon Go trainers to have a good analysis of where to find the specific locations of Pokémon. The tracker can show a particular Poke Stop that is closest to any Pokémon, however, it does not give further information related to it. The first game allows players to exactly identify a Pokémon that has a system of one to three footsteps.

According to the report from Otakukart, the game does not require any update just for a player to get this new tracker for as long as the tracker is available in a particular area. The app just needs to be opened, and it will automatically replace the current tracker of the game. It was already two months ago that the announcement for the tracker was made, and it was initially available in San Francisco.

Based on the report from Heavy, the expected time frame for the tracker to expand outside of California is around one to two weeks, but this was not made possible. Just last Nov. 22, many players all over the world have begun to acquire the new tracker, but it is not yet made available for all players. Niantic has posted in their Facebook page the list of areas that have received the new tracker.

These areas include all states in the west of Mississippi River in the United States of America excluding Alaska and Hawaii, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, western half of Ontario in Canada, and all states and territories of Australia.

Ninatic has received feedbacks and updated the tracker based on these. Niantic said that they have changed the feature just to show the Nearby feature if a PokeStop is actually close to the player's location. They have also added changes to how the Sightings work. There are mixed opinions that players have made about the tracker, especially on Reddit threads.
