The third and fourth season of the TV series will be based on the third (Voyager) and fourth (Drums of Autumn) novels respectively, of the book with the same title.

"Outlander" season 3 will open with the Battle of Culloden. James 'Jamie' Fraser (Sam Heughan) will survive this battle and will go on with his life despite the absence of Claire. But Claire Randall/Fraser (Catriona Balfe) will discover that she is bearing the child of Jamie. This will make her husband, Frank Randall (Tobias Menzie) angry.

Meantime, Jamie will have additional relationships with other women. These relationships will not sit well, naturally, with Claire when they meet again. The reunion of these two main characters of the show will be the highlight of the season.

There Will Be More Exciting Actions In The Third Season

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ronald Moore, the showrunner of "Outlander" season 3 revealed that the upcoming season will feature more exciting actions. "The first two seasons of Outlander were really different from one another, and the third season is really different yet again," said Moore.
