"Drifters" episode 9 will continue with Toyohisa's journey to bring down the Orte Empire and their next stop is the mines of Gadolka. The drifters together with their army of elves will rescue the dwarves from the mines but they need to have a solid plan since Gadolka is Orte Empire's largest weapon facility. Unless the trio comes up with a good plan, they could find themselves on the losing end.
"Drifters" Episode 8 Recap
In "Drifters" episode 8, the drifters in the deserted castle met the leader of the Octobrists and they learned more about the battle with the Ends. Nobunaga is bent on creating guns but no blacksmith could replicate the craftsmanship. The elves think that the dwarves might be able to replicate the weapons since they are the best blacksmiths. Hence, the next move is to free the elves who work as miners for the empire.
While trying to plan their first move, Toyohisa and the freed elves were attacked by Joan of Arc and Gilles de Rais. Gilles de Rais turned into salt after sustaining heavy damage from the Wild Bunch's weaponry but Toyohisa allowed Joan of Arc to live after discovering that his enemy was a woman.
After the altercation with the Ends, Toyohisa made the call to free the dwarves next. Although the elves and the dwarves have been enemies since the beginning of time, the elves decided to go with the drifters and advance to Gadolka.
"Drifters" Episode 9 Spoilers
In "Drifters" episode 9, the rebellion against Orte Empire will continue. Now that the elves are willing to save the dwarves, the army will advance to Gadolka, the largest armory in the Orte Empire. In the previous episode, the shipment of sulfur arrived and Nobunaga has all the ingredients for black powder. Their offense will definitely include the use of this powerful weapon but since they don't have guns yet, they need to improvise.
With a military facility complete with armors, swords and spears, the drifters and their army of elves are at a great disadvantage. Luckily, they have the Octobrist Olmine on their side and Toyohisa's cunning attacks. It would be exciting to see how the fight plays out in this anime and if the dwarves would agree to join the rebellion even if their mortal enemies are the ones to save them.
