Telltale Games' The Walking Dead Season 3 Will Add Save Imports From Previous Two Seasons

Telltale Games has recently confirmed that players will now be able to import their previous The Walking Dead save files from Season 1 and Season 2 into the brand new Season 3. As reported, this might not be expected by many players at the moment. However, given the new title of The Walking Dead Season 3 "A New Frontier", several fans thought the developer would focus on taking a new path.

According to the report from Attack of the Fanboy, Telltale Games is still considering on taking a brand new approach and promising that the Season 3 will be a great avenue for new players to start. But, that does not mean the developer will abandon their longtime players. As of now, it was suggested that players will have to wait on how this importing of files impacts the overall game.

As it was remembered in the past, The Walking Dead Season 1 had a larger impact on some events present in Season 2 while the DLC had almost nothing altered at all. Given that Season 2 has had few varieties of endings, some details might be left out of the essential process favoring on few minor flashbacks.

Based on the report, one other concern is that this situation have occured frequently since the The Walking Dead Season 2 was released. Basically, several players seem to have started playing the series on one platform. For instance, playing previously on Xbox 360 have moved to another one which is the Xbox One. Currently, Telltale Games has not yet clarified the options, however, it did mention that there will be something called "multiplayer save import options". Its details will be revealed soon.

Meanwhile, Telltale has started to develop their own platform beyond the consoles and PC. Possibly, that will be some sort of leverage to import save across the previous generations and maybe even across the various slated platforms. However, fans are suggested to wait for additional information until then.

The Walking Dead Season 3 will have its premiere on Dec. 20 for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, Android and iOS.
