"Dragon Ball Super" is all set to showcase Episode 69 titled "Goku vs Arale! The Earth Ends in a Wacky Battle?!" The episode promises fans an epic battle between Goku and the returning Arale Norimaki. Plus, Bulma's time machine might be revealed as well. Check out the spoilers below.
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 69: Who Is Arale?
In the upcoming episode of "Dragon Ball Super," Arale is making a big comeback that might pose a big problem to Goku. It can be recalled that Arale made a brief appearance in an episode of "Dragon Ball Super" back in May. This time, the female android returns with a bigger, more significant role to play.
Arale is known to be the main character in "Dr. Slump" created by none other than Akira Toriyama. Forbes revealed in a report that Arale's character was not intended to be the lead but a guest role in one episode. In the interview, Kazuhiko Torishima, Toriyama's editor, shared how Arale became the main character of the manga.
"Originally Arale was not meant to be the main character. She was just a guest character for episode one. However, I really loved the girl characters Toriyama created so I wanted to use Arale as the main character. Toriyama thought differently, as Weekly Jump was meant for boys, surely a girl could not be a protagonist. So we made a gamble on making Arale the main character," Torishima revealed.
"So I challenged Toriyama to make one special issue with a girl as the protagonist and we made a bet on where it would come in the ranking. The result of that being, whoever got the closest to the final rank could have the final say. Naturally, I won and I made Arale the main character. While I won the bet, Toriyama is quite stubborn and he refused to change the name of the manga from 'Dr. Slump' to something else. So I compromised on that." Torishima added.
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 69: Goku vs Arale; Here's What To Expect
In "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 69, an epic fight between Goku and Arale is imminent. So what is the root of Arale's grudge against Goku? Apparently, it all started at an event called "World Inventors Award."
The "World Inventors Award" celebrates the world's best inventors. Goku will be working as a part-time guard in the said event. One of the nominees to win the prestigious award is Bulma's father Dr. Briefs. Many speculate that the award will be given to Norimaki as Doctor Mashirito, who was not invited and nominated in the award ceremony, attacks him when he presents his invention.
Being the guard in the event, Goku responds accordingly. Little did he know that Arale is with Dr.Mashirito. It is believed that Arale grew an ill feeling towards Goku from that day on.
And it looks like Arale might be getting her revenge in "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 69 as reports claim that she is in fact, a strong character in the franchise. Toriyama himself admitted on many occasions that Arale is one of the most powerful of his creations. So powerful that she could beat someone like Goku. Meanwhile, another thing to look forward too is Bulma's time machine. It can be recalled that Bulma tried to activate the time machine she created in the last episode. In "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 69, it is expected that Bulma's time machine will finally reveal its full potential. Although it is believed that time traveling is a grave sin, Bulma will still pursue her plan to utilize the time machine.
