‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ News, Updates: Groot, Rocket Spinoff Movie After ‘Avengers: Infinity War’? Vin Diesel Teases Groot vs. Hulk Battle

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" just dropped its newest preview. Following its release on Saturday, Dec. 3, the teaser video broke the record for Marvel's most viewed trailer. Following the trailer's success, Vin Diesel stated in an interview that a third installment in the franchise is possible and that it could feature Rocket and Groot.

"Guardians Of The Galaxy 2" Teaser

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" latest teaser was such a hit and within 24 hours, the promo had approximately 81 million views. This response rate makes it the second biggest trailer release, behind "Beauty and the Beast" which is currently number one.

Among the most lovable clips on the teaser is the scene where Rocket relayed information to Baby Groot telling him not to press the "death button." Another great scene from the trailer is when Mantis embarrassed Peter Quill about his sexual feelings for Gamora.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" Spinoff

Given the success of the preview, it is not surprising why there are some speculations that a third installment in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise is possible. Among the favorite characters in the movie are Groot, the naïve tree alien, and Rocket, the weapon-loving raccoon. In the first movie Groot was a giant tree, but this time Baby Groot will take his place.

In a recent interview, Diesel was asked if Rocket and Groot will have their own movie in the Marvel Universe. The actor who is the voice behind Groot replied that it was highly possible that the duo will get their own movie after "Avengers: Infinity Wars." However, he clarified that the decision is up to James Gunn. Aside from his insights on a possible spinoff, he also mentioned that Groot will be facing Hulk. He added that there is going to be a poster featuring the battle between Hulk and Groot.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 5, 2017.
