Microsoft Revealed A New Smartphone Patent For What Could Be The Surface Phone

The possibilities of the Microsoft´s Surface Phone is higher than ever since a new patent of the mobile device has been revealed, showing how would look like the Surface-branded Windows phone. Apparently, the patent displays a handset with a rear-facing camera, a bottom-mounted USB-C port for charging, side-mounted power and volume buttons and no physical home button.

Surface Phone´s Possible Features

According to the International Business Times, Microsoft recently won an application for a Lumia-look-alike smartphone complete with what could be the slot for the Surface Pen stylus. In fact, the patent discovered also shows that Microsoft would be adapting the Surface Phone to the new trend of ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack in the detriment of wireless headphones or USB-C since the patent revealed a circular port at the top of the device that could be a Surface Pen port.

Although many believed that Microsoft wouldn't compete in the smartphone market, this patent revealed the company´s intentions of achieving its goal of making the ultimate mobile device for the customers, which would set an interesting scenario in the next year, in which the tech giant could start another war against its competitor Apple, this time in the phone´s field, an area where Samsung and the Cupertino company are the biggest players.

Microsoft Would Increase Its Power If The Surface Phone Is Released

 In fact, if Microsoft ends up releasing the Surface Phone, it would mean an incredible rise or the company, considering that this device sill sits alongside the Surface Studio desktop and the new Surface Book, which are both of the most incredible products that Microsoft has released in its successful history.

According to Amaziness, everything related to the Surface Phone patent generates great expectations among the customers, since this device would feature similar functionalities as the products just mentioned, with the addition of an incredible camera that will have more than 20 MP. Although it is too soon to make speculations, many believe that this could be the mysterious product that Microsoft is building in China.
