Final Fantasy XV Guide To The Best Weapon Locations To Win The Post-Game

Compared to other Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy XV has plenty of post-game content to continue the fun and challenge that the main FFXV brings. But while the addition of post-game content - and a meaty chunk of it - might sound great, winning it without the right weapons would be downright difficult.

Conquering The Difficult Post-Game Content Of Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix kind of made the post-game content hard. In fact, you will get the Legendary Weapons in the post-game content. The five quests that you have to go through to get the weapons are so difficult that you even have to face Final Fantasy's highest level enemy. With that said, you will definitely need solid weapons to help you fight off enemies and kill them faster. This guide will walk you through the best weapons - and their locations - that you can use to win the post-game. Ready? Here we go:

Aegis Shield

Compared to other shields in Final Fantasy XV, the Aegis Shield is a good companion in the post-game content of FFXV because it can nullify incoming damage from enemy attacks by 10 percent. That is, you will not suffer the actual blow thanks to its +11 Ballistic Resistance, additional 55 Vitality, 172 Attack and +1 Critical stats. You can find this weapon behind the sealed door found inside the Steyliff Grove Dungeon in the second area, which is just after the first door of the camp.

Apocalypse

Apocalypse is the best two-handed greatsword that you can use in Final Fantasy XV's post-game content. If your HP becomes lower than a third of its full level, you can get a huge damage bonus when you use this sword against your enemies. The Apocalypse also has the highest Attack stat at 332 for swords on this list and Max HP at +403 but a lower +2 Critical. Once you are in the post-game, go to the Balouve Mines Dungeon to find this weapon.

Balmung

If you are looking for the best post-game sword to use in Final Fantasy XV, the Balmung would definitely fit the bill. Balmung may not have the best of stat at just 11 Max MP and +3 Critical but it deals a whopping stat at damaging enemies with 248 Attack. Each hit you do with a Balmung gets a bonus damage reward. So this sword is definitely a must-have in your post-game arsenal. However, getting the Balmung is not that easy since you have to go through the second hardest dungeon to explore in Final Fantasy XV, the Steyliff Grove Dungeon.

Death Penalty

In Final Fantasy VII, Death Penalty is the ultimate weapon of Vincent Valentine (he's an optional playable character in FFVII, in case you don't know). As a gun, you can use it to kill enemies instantly but make sure that you use it right. It has a whopping 424 Attack stat for a recurring series gun, additional 25 for Spirit and +2 for Critical. You can find the Death Penalty gun behind the sealed door located inside the dungeons of Balouve Mines.

Dominator

The Dominator is a greatsword that is incredibly powerful in FFXV. As a light elemental sword, the Dominator is the perfect weapon of choice for slaying demons easily. It comes with even better stats than the Ultima Blade and Balmung with 265 Attack, +298 Max HP, +32 Dark Resistance and +2 Critical stats. In the main game, you can find the Dominator in Duscae. Just head northward to Alstor Slough and check the buildings there. In the post game, you can find it in the Keycatrich Trench Dungeon.

Executioner

The Executioner is a handy firearm that packs plenty of power whenever you encounter huge enemies in Final Fantasy XV like behemoths. With an Executioner, you can do 50 percent more damage to a lone enemy even if it just have a 363 stat for Attack, 2 for Critical and 22 for Spirit. You will find this weapon dropping at the very end of the Glacial Grotto Dungeon right after Chapter 15.

Flayer

Similar to the Balmung, the Flayer is located at the Steyliff Grove Dungeon, right at the very, very end. This weapon is the best polearm type that you can use as a finisher in the post-game content of FFXV. This is because you can get a hefty bonus of an additional 80 percent damage when you it as a finisher. It also has a 337 stat for Attacks and +4 Critical.

Soul Saber

The Soul Saber is actually one of the Legendary Weapons that you can get from The Cursed Legend sidequest. This lower Noctis' Stamina is, the more the damage the Soul Saber deals to enemies. It also has an impressive 202 stat for Attacks, additional 12 MP and +3 Critical.

Ultima Blade

The Ultima Blade is the iconic sword owned by Noctis is Final Fantasy XV. But you have to get the upgraded version of the former Engine Blade if you want to win the post-game content of Final Fantasy XV. What's great with the Ultima Blade is that it can absorb elemental energy every time you use it to kill an enemy. It also has impressive stats like a 208 Attack, plus 40 Max MP, added 30 for Magic and +3 Critical. You can get this Blade on a hunting quest, The Last Spiracorns on Level 29 in Old Lestallum.

Vigilantes

If you wish to stop your enemies from attacking or you just want to stop so that you can kill them, then you should get the Vigilantes. These are incredible daggers that you can use in the end game of Final Fantasy XV to instantly inflict Stop against your enemies. These cool-daggers gives you the benefit of 176 Attack, +25 Magic, +8 Max MP and +3 Critical. You will find this weapon in the Glacial Grotto Dungeon in Chapter 15.

Ziedrich Shield

Just like the Soul Saber, the Ziedrich Shield is also Legendary Weapon so it's given as one of the best weapons you can use in the end-game of Final Fantasy XV. As a powerful Shield, you can instantly get an additional 200 Strength when you use the Blink Boost during battle. This shield is also deadly with stats of 327 for Attack, additional 50 for Vitality, +1 for Critical and another 14 percent of Shot Resistance. As a Legendary Weapon, the only way you can find this Shield is when you finish the sidequest, Legend Wrapped in an Enigma, preferably at Level 75.

Zwill Crossblades

The Zwill Crossblades is another pair of daggers and is another Legendary Weapon that would be very helpful in FFXV's post-game. It comes with a huge magic boost with additional 32 Magic Modifier as long as you have a full HP. More than that, it comes with a 345 stat for Attack, plus 25 for Magic, +3 Critical and additional 13 Max MP. You can find this weapon at Level 99 on the post-game sidequest, Wondrous Weapon. This is also where you will fight the highest level enemy Naglfar who happens to be resistant to standard issue weapons but not to powerful Ice, Fire, Light and Lightning spells.
