Overwatch Winter Wonderland Event Is Here – And It’s A Blast!

The holiday event that Overwatch players are waiting for is finally here! Blizzard released the Winter Wonderland event to celebrate Christmas with their loyal Overwatch players. But aside from the revamped streets with a Christmas theme, Blizzard will also give its players plenty to celebrate with new emotes, highlight intros, player icons, voice lines and most especially new character skins.

An Extended Winter Wonderland Event For Overwatch

Yesterday, Dec.13, the Winter Wonderland holiday event of Overwatch officially went live. Aside from the teased announcement featuring King's Row with a winter theme, the Hanamura map will also get the same treatment from the latest holiday event. Not only that, Blizzard decided to extend the festive celebration until Jan. 2. Overwatch players will have more than enough time to get all the holiday loot boxes that Blizzard will be giving out as part of the celebration. Players just have to level up into the game to get the Winter Loot Boxes just like regular loots.

New Snowball Offensive Brawl Mode In Overwatch

Blizzard also decided to add a new brawl mode in Overwatch, the Snowball Offensive, featuring two teams composed of six Meis each. With the Snowball Offensive, you can throw special snowball attacks as long as the Winter Wonderland event is up. This is also the reason why Mei's regular weapon is gone and replaced with a single-shot snowball gun. With the update, players will have to reload Mei's weapon using snow piles.

More Gifts For Overwatch Players

With the Winter Wonderland event, Blizzard decided to give Symmetra new abilities in the game. Random players will also have the ability to party together with the newly added Stay As Team feature. Sombra will also have a new unlockable voice line, Boop. Gamers will enjoy a better gameplay in Overwatch thanks to the bug fixes the Blizzard Entertainment added with their holiday event update to the game.

Blizzard will also give more than 100 cosmetic items for Overwatch players. Of course, these will be just available until the winter event. The new skins that come with the event will make players love Winter Wonderland even more. Mei becomes Santa. Zenyatta gets the Nutcracker skin. Winston becomes a Yeti. Roadhog gets a Reindeer skin and a lot more giving Overwatch heroes a new look for the holidays.
