‘Homeland’ Season 6 News & Spoilers: Peter Quinn Is Back, Major Events Take Place In Abu Dhabi; Upcoming Season Covers Presidential Transition

"Homeland" season 6 will not be back until Jan. 15, 2017 but Showtime already released the teaser for the pilot episode. The entire season will focus on the transition between the outgoing president and the president-elect. It will not be a peaceful transition and a lot of troubling events will take place during the period.

Based on the preview released for "Homeland" season 6, the incoming president Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) will have a lot on her plate. Meanwhile, Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) moved to Brooklyn, New York after she successfully stopped a terrorist attack in Berlin. Mathison is working with an organization that helps Muslims harassed by the government since they are suspected to be in cahoots with terrorist groups. Convincing the government agencies to allow Muslims their freedom seems to be a challenging task for Mathison.

"Homeland" season 6 will be filled with intrigue and conflicts of interest and the main characters are back in New York where a lot of action is bound to take place. Needless to say, they may also make their way to Abu Dhabi which has been featured in the preview. One major spoiler is about Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend). Quinn will still be in "Homeland" season 6 although his current condition is not yet known. In the preview, Quinn is not shown but he asks Mathison what happened to him.

There are a lot of fans who ship Quinn and Mathison. Right after Quinn's hospitalization, many feared that his life would end but it did not. While how active and involved he would be in the upcoming season remains to be seen, showrunner Alex Gansa teased that Quinn will be different this season. In fact, he will not be the same man that most fans have known and this change will "open up possibilities between him and Carrie."

"Homeland" season 6 will debut on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
