Star Wars 1313 The Cancelled Game About Bobba Fett Revealed

Star Wars 1313 was supposed to be Bobba Fett's game but problems in Lucas Arts at that time led to its cancellation. Now, Star Wars fans can relive the game's memory by viewing its concept arts.

Preview of a Scrapped Game

Fans were excited when a preview of Star Wars 1313 was shown on 2012 at the E3 event. The game is meant to explore Corusant's criminal underworld where Bobba Fett and maybe even Han Solo ply their trade.

Unfortunately, the preview was the only thing that was seen from the game. Lucas Arts shut down along with all of its projects including Star Wars 1313. Currently, that cancelled game has been forgotten except for its concept arts. Three of the game's artists namely, Gustavo Mendonca, Bruno Werneck and Jan Urschel managed to keep Star Wars 1313's memory alive with their art works.

What Happen To The Game?

Initially, the game was supposed to be an unknown mercenary in the Star Wars Universe. The Lucas Arts staffs were working on the project for more than two years and had undergone several revisions. They were shocked though, when George Lucas wanted Bobba Fett as the main character for the game.

The developers were in an uproar but they pleaded to Lucas to reconsider. Unfortunately, he was not dissuaded. On hindsight, a Star Wars game about a bounty hunter will usually evoke the image of Bobba Fett. It seems Lucas was right in insisting the change. Despite the grumblings, the game developers push on with the project. Curiously, the Star Wars creator implemented layoffs and hiring freeze that delayed even further the game'

Star Wars 1313 though, was eventually cancelled through no fault of their own. Unknown to them Lucas was already negotiating with Disney over the sale of the franchise. When the new management took over, the project was finally shelved and forgotten.
