'Halo Wars: Definitive Edition' Is Now Available But There's A Chance You Can't Play It Yet

An enhanced version of the popular 2009 RTS game, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, has finally arrived. This is available for everyone who pre-ordered Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition. There's a catch, however. You won't be able to play it until 7-10 days.

Halo Wars: Definitive Edition

The Halo Wars: Definitive Edition can be purchased by pre-ordering the Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition that costs $80. This enhanced version of the original Halo Wars has been updated to run on Xbox One and Windows PC as a "Play Anywhere" title, Xbox reported. This means that you can play the game on both Xbox One and PC and move your progress back and forth the platforms including all your achievements and saved games. However, there is a downside.

According to Xbox, the codes for the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition will be set to be delivered to your Xbox inbox message within seven to ten days. That basically means there is a chance that you won't be able to play the game within this week until Microsoft delivers the code. You can redeem the game as soon as your code arrives and download it here.

Halo Wars: Definitive Edition showcases enhanced graphics quality, visual effects, and audio. Also included are bundles of all the expansions from the original games. It doesn't end there; there is also a full complement of 1,500 Gamerscore if you pre-order Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition.

Scheduled to be released on February 17, Halo Wars 2 is a real-time strategy game, similar to its previous titles. It was originally set to come out in 2016 but was delayed and set to arrive next year. New contents were added such as characters and modes. A beta of the game was ran on June 13-23 but Gamespot reported that a second beta is set to launch ahead of its final release date.
