Audi To Kick Off The Detroit Auto Show With Its Latest Q8 Concept

Audi, the famous German automotive brand, has been teasing fans all over the world since May 2016 with the release of their newest sports utility vehicle. Supporters have been waiting for the sports utility vehicle from Audi that can rival the likes of the BMW X6, the Range Rover Sports Coupe and the GLE from Mercedes-Benz. In a recent press release, Audi has announced that they will be unveiling their newest sports utility vehicle at the Detroit Auto Show, named the Audi Q8.

The Audi Q8 Concept Will Be Reminiscent Of The Past

According to Rupert Stadler, CEO of Audi, the new sports utility vehicle will be a sporty "Q" derivative. Stadler mentioned in his press release that the Audi Q8 would have a nostalgic design that reminds the Audi Quattro from the 1980s. The new Q8 will be presented as a concept vehicle at the Detroit Auto Show but will enter production later on with sales scheduled sometime in 2018.

The Audi Q8 SUV Will Be Audi's New Flagship

The Audi Q8 will stand over the Audi Q7, which is the current flagship sports utility vehicle from the car brand. The production vehicle would sit on a platform that is a cross between a sports coupe and a proper sports utility vehicle. Moreover, the eight-sided single frame grille in front would be wider than any of Audi's existing production vehicles. The vehicle design shows a bold, forward moving stance with three-dimensional sculpting.

No official statement has been released yet, but the new Audi Q8 sports utility vehicle is expected to get either a V6 or a V8 engine with both options for petrol and diesel for its production line. The Audi Q8 will appear on January 8 at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, also known as the 2017 North American International Auto Show.
