Final Fantasy XV Guide: Must-Have Ascension Skills To Level Up First

Final Fantasy XV game developers have made the gaming experience all the more worthwhile with the use of what they call the Ascension System. This basically enables you to level up your character based on specific skills in the game. While it does promote individuality and originality, there are basic skills that everyone must have in order to make the gameplay a tad easier.

AP Generating Skills: Road Running and Happy Camping

As a beginner, it is important to focus on skills that will help you generate AP faster which in turn gives you more access to skills in the ascension tree. Armiger Action, Magic Action, and Angler Action are just a few of them but for the must haves, start off with Road Running and Happy Camping. You're going to do a lot of exploring in this game, so make sure these skills are active

Combat Skills: Warp Factor and Stalker

Now that AP is slowly trickling and adding up, it's time to work on your combat skills. These are the second most important set of skills to look into as it is going to be second nature for you in FFXV to come across enemies and creatures to fight with. Warp Factor is your go to skill during combat and will always be a favorite to use for any well minded gamer. It not only makes you look cool by shifting through the combat field, teleporting you to and from your enemy, but it increases the damage of your warp strikes, helping you finish the fight much sooner and giving you additional AP. Stalker will make your life easier, guaranteed. You will encounter enemies that are better attacked from behind, especially those that are much stronger than your character.

Recovery: Hang In

Hang In is your life-saver, literally. The game gives you several warp points throughout the combat area where you can temporarily "hang" and regenerate HP. Hang In comes in play during this period by making that process much faster. Now this is particularly handy during combat modes where enemies are a little harder to kill.

Teamwork: Link Up

You are not a lone wolf in this game which means you also need to be thinking about leveling up the overall damage of your group. Link Up leverages on what we call link strike attacks, resulting in more damage and easier kill. Make sure to work on this early in the game because it will relieve you of having to carry the entire combat on your own.

Those are the must have ascension skills to level up first in order to smoothly transition to higher levels in the game. There are a lot more that will further enhance your characters abilities as you immerse yourself into the game. Just make sure you don't run out of AP!
