Super Mario Run Update: Android Release Date Discussed; When Will It Arrive?

One week has passed since the release of Super Mario Run, and there are already reported numerous ups and downs. There were a lot of complaints from buyers regarding its premium price and this instantly led to lesser stocks in Nintendo. It was already projected that Super Mario Run will not be as phenomenal to be considered as a successful Android launch for 2017.

In spite of these notions, there were latest reports that indicated the game's download rate to reach 40 million, thus exceeding the company's predicted value of 10 million. This is already the download rate of the game in as early as four days. Super Mario Run will still have a great opportunity to last while Nintendo is still on a move about how they can formulate new strategies for the game, according to iDigital Times.

Nintendo has not yet specifically revealed as to when they will release Super Mario Run for Android. SuperData CEO Joost van Dreunen said that there is however a good chance that the game will cost lesser for those who are Android users than those who are using the iOS. Joost futher said that Nintendo is employing a strategy similar to a traditional wide release, and they are launching this game in order to create noise through charging a premium price. Additionally, Nintendo will then lower the price later on, similar to how they do with Wii games, as reported by The Bitbag.

SuperData research predicted that there will be an initial $60 million revenue for the game's first months, however the research firm dropped their predictions to $12-$15 million only. Wall Street based their confidence on this, thus resulting to a weaker confidence in this Nintendo's mobile game expansion.

The game's fullest potential will only be realized once it will be launched on Android. This is due to the fact that there is a higher volume of Android users in the global market, thus it will be a good source of sales once Nintendo will drop the game's buy-in price.
