Since Christmas season is ending, lots of people are now anticipating the start of a new year. Meanwhile, Niantic has introduced a special type of Pikachu wearing a Santa Hat in preparation for this year's Christmas season. The company also hosted a seasonal event for the game dedicated to their players. However, with New Year fast approaching, fans are wondering if Niantic would replace their Santa Hat Pikachu with the ones wearing a Party Hat.

According to the report from Otakukart, Santa Hat Pikachu is available for a limited time only. That means players are encouraged to catch this special type of Pikachu as soon as possible. Apparently, the Santa Hat will be seen on Raichu whenever a Santa Hat Pikachu evolved. Meanwhile, hosting a short New Year's event would be a good thing for Niantic since Pokemon Go seems to hold a major event on holidays, since Halloween.

As reported, New Year's event should somehow be different from the current Christmas Event considering that New Year is pretty close to Christmas. Now given the fact that Christmas Event is coming to a close, Niantic should perhaps add a little spice to the game in preparation for New Year. It might be too late for the company to give their fans several in-game bonuses such as increase in spawns, stardust, double XP etc. However, they should at least give some tiny bonuses to their fans. As a result, a Party Hat Pikachu was suggested to replace the current Santa Hat.

Some might wonder why a party hat was suggested. As explained, New Year's Eve is more like partying that is why these hats are more fitted. In addition, it suits perfectly for Pikachu. If Niantic considers that option, Pikachu's demand would potentially boost even more especially when it is only available for a day. Meanwhile, it seems like Niantic remains quiet on their plans for the upcoming New Year's Eve.
