Final Fantasy Creator Plans To Reveal A New Game Next Year

Final Fantasy creator and Mistwalker Studios President Hironobu Sakaguchi hopes to announce his next game in 2017. Sakaguchi said that the studio targets to reveal the game next year, but did not share any specific date. Tidbits of information have already circulated over the year but this is the first time Sakaguchi talked about the subject.

Hironobu Sakaguchi Teaming Up With Silicon Studio For A New Game

The Final Fantasy creator announced earlier this year that his team is working with Silicon Studio, the company behind the popular Bravely Default games. No other information was revealed after that announcement, even platform or type of the game. Either this is the same game he was referring to announce next year or not; nobody has an idea.

Fans, however, are looking forward to this project. Sakaguchi developed Final Fantasy in the 1980s where it became a massive hit until 2000s. The latest franchise, Final Fantasy XV, is presently one of the most successful games of the year. With his partnership with Silicon Studio, fans are expecting an old-school yet remarkable type of game. Sakaguchi and his team Mistwalker will handle the creative aspects of the game while the Silicon Studio will be taking care of the technology and management.

Final Fantasy Creator Currently Working On Console Version Of His Game

It has been reported recently that Sakaguchi is working on a project, a console version of his game Terra Battle. Terra Battle is a mobile Japanese role-playing game published in 2014 available to both Android and iOS. Despite having a slow progression, the development is reportedly still ongoing along with his other projects.

As reported by Siliconera, The Final Fantasy creator also seeks to open a new gaming company that focuses on "development." Again, there is no clue whether or not this is involved in the new game he is working on. More details will be reported as soon as they release more information. Stay tuned!
