OLED panels, a staple in high-end smartphones would be supplied by Samsung for the to-be-released iPhone 8 for the coming year. Reasons for the supplying include Samsung being the only one capable of meeting the requirements of Apple in the next year.
Furthermore, Samsung Display is also able to provide for the most number of units, with 20 million for each month, much more than other known manufacturers for the OLED. Sources say that the OLED screens to be provided by the Korea-based company to Apple would measure 5.8 inches.
While some sources also claim that the new model would be having a smaller screen, at 5 inches, inclusive of the edges. Ibtimes.com, on the other hand, is more specific, with the dimensions, stating that the dimensions would come in three variants, specifically 4.7-inches, 5.8 inches, and a slightly smaller 5.5 inches.
It is expected that the AMOLED iPhone units in 2017 would be having an expected shipment rate of between 60 and 70 million units, with small-scale manufacturing to commence in March. It is also said that the output will steadily increase in mid-2017, specifically between the months of May and June, with the anticipated launch date to fall in the month of September.
For other parts, Japan-based Nissha Printing would serve as the supplier for the touch sensors to be used in the AMOLED screen, touch sensor and OLED display panel bonding will be performed by General Interface Solutions, Samsung, or TPK Holding.
Other features
According to IB Times, a brand new, top-of-the-line OLED model, apart from two LCD-screen models would be released for this new year. With it, other suggested features include, having a curved screen for the OLED version.
Apart from a less rigid and more flexible, and brighter screen, an A11 processing unit, iris and facial scanning technologies, a glass-panel rear, and possibly even the absence of the traditional home button found in earlier versions of the said phone. The release of the three new versions of the iPhone 8 would mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, which has been the Apple's flagship smartphone since its launch in 2007.
It has since gained so much popularity through these years, being in extra tight competition with Samsung and other Android-powered phones since the start of the present decade, with the iPhone briefly being on top in terms of sales for phones just a few years ago.

According to BGR, the tech giant has most definitely put top priority on the iPhone for 2017, given the fact that the device is now on its 10th year of being released and appreciated by the public. Throughout the years, Apple has been known to release several gadget types through the years.
This includes the iPod in the early 2000s, with the MacBook, iPad, and the iPhone following the suit. Despite the heavily-hyped release of the iPhone 8, updates for the MacBook would be released as well. Hopefully, the iPhone 8 and its batch of varieties wouldn't fail its hyped users.
