‘Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' Takes On Pro-Wrestling With New Crossover PR; Release Date Announced

The latest update for “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” has been just been released recently and it features the crossover between the video game and Japan’s professional wrestling field. The crossover features one of the all-time original characters in the game. Meanwhile, the release dates have been hinted for the said fighting game.

Just after the New Year kicked in, the first promotional video for the crossover between “Tekken 7: Retribution” and Japan’s Pro-Wrestling scene has been finally unveiled. In the said crossover trailer, Japanese professional wrestler, Kazuchika Okada, also known as the Rainmaker, gives a message and teases about the upcoming update that involves one beloved "Tekken" character. Okada debuted his professional wrestling career in August 2004 and has been gradually making a name for himself in the ring as he gained countless titles from pro-wrestling matches and various sports awards.

Being one of the most renowned Japanese professional wrestlers, “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” pays tribute to his accomplishments by adding one of his popular costumes in the video game’s upcoming downloadable content. The inspired outfit will be made available for the brawler character, King, who has been in the roster of "Tekken" fighters since the first game. Aside from the limited outfit, King will also be able to use Okada’s special wrestling move “Rain of Money”, replacing the former’s Rage Art move. In-game shirts donning prints of “New Japan Pro-Wrestling x Heihachi” and the “Bullet Club” will be up for sale beginning Jan. 23.

The said special limited items can be unlocked by players from Jan. 23 up to Feb. 22 only within this year. But these are not the only items up for grabs as the collaboration also extends to shirts that avid fans and players can wear, which will be available for purchase at the end of January 2017. Released by Bandai Namco Entertainment, “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” was introduced in Japan in July 2016 as an arcade game and will be released in the early quarters of 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It has been revealed that the upcoming video game will be made available in Japan in spring this year.
