Will The Final Character Roster For Injustice 2 Have 28 Characters?

A lot of gamers are eagerly waiting for the release of Injustice 2 this year, but a lot of details on the game are still left in mystery. Fans know that classic heroes in the game like Batman and Superman will appear and there will also be lesser known characters like Blue Beetle and Atrocitus. The question is: How many playable characters can we expect to come to this game?

According to The Bitbag, some fans have been able to point out that the character roster for Injustice 2 has 28 slots. So far, there have only been ten characters confirmed for the game Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Deadshot, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn, Superman, Supergirl and Wonder Woman, which means that there are currently 18 slots up for grabs for any character that NetherRealm seems to deem worthy.

Which Characters Should Be Expected

Off the bat, fans can expect that the roster will have some returning characters from the previous game like The Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and Cyborg. With the character's popularity and the "Justice League" movie coming up, there is no way that Injustice 2 could be missing these fan favorites.

Not to mention there's also the villain roster. What good are the heroes if they couldn't battle their nemeses like Lex Luthor, the Joker, Sinestro, Catwoman, and Black Adam?

Fans are also expecting whole new characters to join the roster like The Red Hood and Black Manta. Mortal Kombat creator, Ed Boon, is very active on Twitter, and is always asking fans for who they want to see in the game. There's even a possibility of characters like Spawn and Hellboy being available as DLC.

When Will It Be Released?

As of now, the release date for Injustice 2 is still a mystery, but there has been confirmation that fans can't expect it by the end of March. Hopefully the game comes out close to the DC films coming this year like "Wonder Woman" in June and "Justice League" in November. Hopefully this bides NetherRealm enough time to polish Injustice 2 into a fine finish.
