Things are about to change in Final Fantasy XIV this month of the year. That's because developer Square Enix plans to release a new update. Apart from new features, a good number of contents are to be expected. And of course, improvements and/or fixes are to be offered as well.

The aforementioned Final Fantasy XIV update is called patch 3.5. It'll arrive next week, particularly on January 17. In fact, the studio has just released a trailer for this patch. It gave fans a sneak peek to what it's all about. (Learn more about it on the embedded video below).

Final Fantasy XIV patch 3.5, via the aforesaid video, introduces the intense boss battles at Warring Triad. It also features the Containment Bay Z1T9. It's worth mentioning that the latter is where players will be facing the fierce enemy named Demon Zurvan.

Aside from the ones mentioned above, the forthcoming Final Fantasy XIV patch will be bringing brand new gears and quests, too. The update is also expected to bring the so-called Bribe Tribe Quests. The update is confirmed to bring upgrades on the quality of life within the game as well. Heck, players will even have the chance to explore the vast holy grounds of the dragons. This should be expected as soon as they decide to return to Sohm Al.

It's worth noting that the Final Fantasy XIV patch 3.5 has an official name. It's called The Far Edge of Fate. Its main feature is basically a fresh chapter. The latter points to the storyline of the Shadows of the Mach. It will bring new raid alliances, exploratory quests or missions and the impending fight against the above mentioned creature. An improved multiplayer experience is also among the promises of the said patch.
