Apparently, Half-Life 3 Is Not Going To Happen

If there's a game that gamers have been wishing and hoping for, it's no other than Valve's Half-Life 3. The idea of it becoming a reality has been sitting there for like a good amount of years. But still, fast forward to today, no one can even confirm if it's under development or what. However, there's an insider (straight from the studio) who seems to hold the answer to the never-ending question: is Half-Life 3 happening? Sorry to burst the bubble, but unfortunately, it seems not.

According to PC Gamer, this insider (who remains to be unknown for some obvious reasons) claims that there's no such thing as Half-Life 3. This anonymous tipster even pointed out that the title "has never existed." That regardless of how noisy the clamor of fans will be, it isn't just happening.

The source (from Game Informer's Andrew Reiner), nevertheless, suggests that Half-Life 3 nearly became a live-action game. Or, in simpler words, an RTS. This almost became a possibility if and only if Valve made use of the ideas from its employees in hopes to make the game a reality. Unfortunately, the company didn't.

The insider said that the extinction of Half-Life 3 can't be blamed to the developers and the team. Had they had the decision to do so, the third installment in the series could've long existed. However, the helming power should only come from no other Gabe Newell, who, unfortunately, didn't seem to favor the game.

If this is to be regarded as true, then it's safe to say that Valve's Newell is the number one hindrance to Half-Life 3. And for whatever reason, this game isn't just going to make it to top. But hey, the guy must have his own reason for doing so. Either that, only one thing's for sure -- the title might just be dumped to the abyss. To check the full interview, go here.

What are your thoughts on the statements the Valve insider claims about Half-Life 3? Do you really think it won't happen at all? Any other reason you believe the studio didn't push it forward? Share to us what you're thinking at the comment section below!
