Some studies show and suggests that caffeine could be useful as a behavior-treating for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, specialists are saying that it should be taken with caution most especially if people have other conditions to consider.

It is said to normalize levels of dopamine, improving the attentiveness of patient with ADHD.

While caffeine is like some ADHD medications, most food and drinks that contain the stimulating effects that cannot be quantified. A cup of coffee or tea can greatly differ in their caffeine content. Adding caffeine to medicinal list may also cause over stimulation.

People with conditions like anxiety, glaucoma, high blood pressure, and kidney, heart and liver disease are guided to avoid stimulants per reports. Stimulants, like coffee, may in theory cause anxiety, headache, irritability, less appetite, sleeplessness, shaking or tremors, and tics.

Coffee For Kids ADHD Should Be Given As Per Doctor's Prescription

Consuming caffeine as treatment for children with ADHD should only be used with doctor's control. Per The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, most kids already surpass the healthy level of caffeine in their diet. A soda is said to contain 30 to 48 mg of caffeine. Moreover, a can of 12 ounces can of soda holds 39 grams of sugar which already surpasses the limit of 24 grams for women and 36 grams for men.

Caffeine is described to have different result in the body of a child, teen, or adult. Children with ADHD have more sleep difficulties and daytime sleepiness. As caffeine, can affect with sleep, it should be given only during morning or eliminate it totally from the diet.

Some studies suggest also that a tea drinking may be effective in treating ADHD, as it lessen fatigue and increase motivation at the same time, self-confidence, and vigilance. However, any extra intake of caffeine should be under a doctor's supervision.
