Smite Update: Path OF The Phantom Queen Event Has Arrive

Hi-Rez Studios has previously announced their biggest in-game event for Smite called Path of the Phantom Queen during their annual Hi-Rez Expo. The said event will feature the new Celtic Pantheon. Currently, the studio has revealed that the said event is now live.

For those who are uninitiated or just new to the game, the event Path of the Phantom Queen is just a huge board game which has a particular quest for players to complete such as "win X amount of games" in order to move forward to unlock new items. These items includes the Tier 3 skin for the latest god added to Smite and first from the Celtic Pantheon called as The Morrigan.

However, Hi-Rez did some tweaks to the event to make it more challenging for the players. As a result, it will be complicated to acquire the tacky skin of The Morrigan. Based on the report, the some pieces of the board is packed with traps or worst, forces you to go back a few steps.

Meanwhile, Attack of the Fanboy reported that aside from the abovementioned board game, the developer also added several new skins for both Artemis and Terra. In addition, the new customization items including the Celtic themed pedestals, loading frames were featured.

Nevertheless, unlike the Tier 3 The Morrigan skin which is tied to the board game, these mentioned customization items and skins for Artemis and Terra can be acquired instantly if you buy the event which cost 1,000 gems. However, those who are Twitch Prime members can unlock the Path of the Phantom Queen event directly through claiming their code on Twitch.

Additionally, HiRezAjax, the lead designer for Smite has said during the interview that fans will expect the next god to be a Japanese Guardian to complete the rolls for the Japanese Pantheon and will be followed by another Celtic god. HiRezAjax also added that they will be reconsidering the Hindu Pantheon in a big way this year and will launch several gods during the course of the year.
