Logitech today has announced their BRIO webcam, a high-end device that will feature 4K video and High Dynamic Range (HDR) support. The $199 camera is available for sale today via Logitech's e-commerce site, with Amazon and retail channels also coming soon.
New Logitech 4K Webcam
According to NetworkWorld, the 4K sensor also grants the camera a 5x digital zoom capability, which will enable users to zoom in tight on things in the video frame. Additionally, Logitech's RightLight technology offers quick fixes for users in dim or low light settings, and the HDR support helps users who are recording in high contrast, backlit rooms.
Notable Features Of The Camera
The high-tech camera will also let users select from three available fields-of-view: 65% for up-close, face-to-face meetings, 78% for showing larger desk space, and 90% for streamers who intend to show things in the background during recording.
Video conferencing support for 4K streaming, on the other hand, is still limited, but the camera also supports 1080P at 60FPS resolution, 720P resolution, and even 480P, intended for users who have very limited bandwidth. The BRIO will also work in facial recognition and authentication scenarios since the device are certified with Windows Hello and KeyLemon (for Mac users).
The camera is also certified to work with several business applications; e.g. Skype for Business, Cisco platforms.
The Logitech Webcam Is Available To Everyone
According to PCMag, Logitech is currently marketing this product for both consumers and business users with slightly different names yet similar features. On the consumer end, the product will be called the Logitech 4K Pro Webcam and will be focused on YouTube Live and Facebook Live streamers looking for the highest resolution for streaming purposes. On the business side, it will be called the Logitech BRIO and will be focused on vertical industries such as telemedicine, industrial and field services.
Overall, the device is a total upgrade to the standard webcam, and it will truly provide users the amazing video quality that everyone is looking for.
