Maruti Suzuki Proves Impressive With 4,800 Sales In January

The compact crossover from the Indo-Japanese car maker Maruti Suzuki revs up as it proudly drives to the sales numbers to a high. 4,800 units were sold of the Ignis model, which was showcased during the Auto Expo 2016. The vehicle did this within just three weeks of its launch.

The Ignis model is the third design that is offered through Maruti Suzuki's premium dealership Nexa. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis was initially available to consumers with a choice to book online. In the first week, around an amazing 11,000 bookings were made.

The entry-level crossover, which targeted the millennial market born somewhere between the late 80s and early 90s is equipped with standard fitment of dual airbags, ABS, 15-inch alloy wheels, seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, and ISOFIX for child seat along with front and rear impact shield. What's more is that the vehicle has a pretty impressive 7-inch touch screen infotainment system setup which is combined with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link app, stylish LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs.

The crossover sports a 1.2L VVT petrol and a 1.3L DDiS 190 diesel engine plus an optional AMT gearbox. The Ignis is ready to whip up 82bhp of power at 6000rpm and a torque that is 113Nm at 4200rpm for its petrol. On the other hand, the diesel mill will produce 74bhp of power at 4000 rpm and a torque of 190Nm at 2000 rpm.

The big automaker continues to cement itself to the top. In similar news, Maruti Suzuki's C-sedan, the Ciaz, jumped to the tenth spot as the best-selling car in January with 6,530 units sold. As a passenger vehicle maker, Maruti Suzuki previously announced in mid-2016 that it partnered with Uber India to train around 30,000 drivers regarding safer driving over a period of three years.
