'Skylanders' News: Activision Blizzard Will Not Be Releasing A New Game This Year

Activision confirms that it will not be releasing a new Skylanders console game this year. Despite this news, the developer clarified that it is cooking something for Skylanders: Imaginators and there is a possibility that a mobile game is coming.

The Future Of Skylanders

Even if there are no plans for another game, Activision will still be releasing a new content for Skylanders: Imaginators. The players need to know that the developer has yet to announce what are the features of the upcoming content.

Also, another Skylanders mobile game might be under development. According to Venture Beat, last year Activision Blizzard released a card game called Skylanders: Battlecast. The game is on the 179th spot on App Store. This means that there is a possibility that the developer will be focusing on releasing mobile games.

A lot of players appreciate the Skylanders franchise. Even the toys created by Activision is still doing good in the market that leads to the cancellation of Disney Infinity toys. However, this is not enough reason to release a new game this year.

Other Important News About Skylanders

Despite the bad feedbacks received by the developer, Activision has confirmed that a Skylanders will be available for Nintendo Switch, as per Shack News. The game that will be compatible with the upcoming console is a better version.

After releasing the necessary content for Skylanders: Imaginators, the developer will take a break for about a year before releasing another installment of the franchise. The animated series "Skylanders Academy" will be airing season 2 this year on Netflix. The third season is currently being created for next year, according to Eurogamer.

The players might not agree on Activision's plans for Skylanders because they really love the game. But the whole team thinks it is the right time to go on hiatus after six years of developing the franchise. Hopefully, when a new sequel is ready to be released, it will be better than before.
