Samsung Galaxy S Advance owners in India will finally get a taste of Jelly Bean, as the smartphone has started receiving the Android 4.1.2 software update, per reports.

"Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) in India," reports FoneArena.

Recently, Samsung pushed out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S2 in India and now, according to an XDA Developers forum member areeb47, the software update is being pushed out over the air OTA (over the air). Alternately, Galaxy S Advance owners also have the option to update to Jelly Bean via Kies.

The Galaxy S Advance was launched in India in 2012 and was priced at Rs. 26,900 at the time. After that the smartphone received two price cuts in April this year and was available for Rs.17, 500 which was then reduced to Rs.14,500.

With the Galaxy S Advance receiving the update, the smartphone will jump from Android 2.3 Gingerbread to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

The Jelly Bean update brings a slew of features and performance improvements to the Galaxy S Advance. The update makes the phone faster, thanks to Project Butter and more stable. It also brings Google Now, new Nature UX (similar to the Galaxy S3), contextual search, Smart Stay, Pop-up Play, Direct Call, two Homescreen modes and more.

If you're yet to receive the update, wait a few more days, as Samsung usually pushes out its software updates in phases and, therefore, not all users receive it at the same time.

To check if your Galaxy S Advance has received the OTA Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update, go to Settings>About Device> Software Update> Check for Updates.
