‘In This Corner Of The World' Anime Movie To Be Released In U.S, Australia, And 21 Other Countries This Year

The newest anime movie craze is going to be released in the United States this year as well as in other 21 countries. “In This Corner of the World” will be shown in theaters all over the world after making its premiere in Japan. The said movie will be released on different dates for international screenings.

Though the date has not yet been determined, Sunao Katabuchi’s “In This Corner of the World” will be made available in the United States and France in September 2017. Mexico though will see the movie out on March 3 with Katabuchi himself and actress Rena Nounen making a special appearance. Other South American countries including Argentina and Chile will have the said anime movie on March 17.

“In This Corner of the World” will then make its premiere in Thailand on March 23 and in Hong Kong on March 30. The said anime film will grace the theaters of the United Kingdom in June and Germany in July. Aside from that, selected ten cities all over Germany and Australia will be able to see the movie through the Akiba Pass Festival.

Sunao Katabuchi’s “In This Corner of the World” is a new historical drama animated film that made its theatrical debut in Japan on Nov. 12 last year but was shown beforehand at the Tokyo International Film Festival, which was held in October 2016. The movie is actually a crowdfunded project back in 2015 and it became an instant hit as soon as it opened in Japan, landing in the top spots of Japan’s box office. Aside from that, the said anime movie has already won various awards including a number of Best Film titles.

The animated movie, “In This Corner of the World” is set in the 1930s to the 1940s in Hiroshima and Kure, Japan. The story takes place a decade before and after the atomic bomb was released onto the city. Though the story may be of fiction, most of the backgrounds of the story are based on real events and facts that were thoroughly researched by the production.
