AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update Not OTA, Only Through Kies

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Note on AT&T will soon be able to enjoy several new features and enhancements as the carrier has started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the device.

The software update is already rolling out but is not an over-the-air update. Users will have to download and install the new operating system version via the Samsung Kies application. This means that users will have to connect their Galaxy Note to a PC. 

"Starting today, the owners of a Galaxy Note smartphone on the network of wireless carrier AT&T should be able to download and install the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform release on their devices, it seem[sic]," reports Softpedia.

The software update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean has already been pushed out for Samsung's Galaxy Note in various markets around the world, and now U.S. carrier AT&T has joined the party. 

The enhancements which the update brings Galaxy Note owners' way are as follows:

- Popup note: Lets users instantly write down directions, phone numbers and other information while on a call.

- Popup Video and Browser: Lets users watch videos or browse the Internet while performing other tasks.

- Photo note and frame: Enables users to write notes on the front and rear of a photo.

- Easy clip: Lets users crop an image from any screen and save or share easily.

- Paper artist: Provides an aesthetic photo editing experience.

- Handwriting on S planner and email: Send handwritten notes via email.

- Enhanced S Note: More effects and templates added.

It is advisable to back up all your personal files and info before proceeding with the update and ensure your smartphone has ample battery charge to avoid any disruptions while updating.
