Mickey's return is highly possible. In a previous interview on TV Guide, actor Noel Fisher seemed positive when asked about his character's possible reappearance. "As far as I've ever known -- the character is not dead, so it's fairly open ended. The prison story and even with this, it's the same basic thing. There's always the possibility," the actor said. He added that a long-term relationship is still possible for Ian and Mickey despite the couple's bittersweet separations.

Meanwhile, it was reported that "Shameless" season 8 will finally address Fiona's love life. In the previous season, Fiona acted as a pseudo-parent to her younger siblings, however, with Frank back in the family, this responsibility might be lifted up from her. Spoilers reveal Frank will finally try to be a good parent to the kids.

Aside from her burgeoning real estate business, love might keep Fiona busy is the upcoming season. After her painful break-up with Sean in "Shameless" season 6, spoilers reveal that Fiona would finally enter a serious relationship. However, there are speculations that her former lovers might come back to complicate her life.

According to a report, Sean, who almost married Fiona might be the most likely to come back among her ex-lovers. In a previous interview "Shameless" executive producer Nancy Pimental there is still a possibility that Fiona and Sean might reunite in the future. She added that the writers haven't talked about what the future holds for Sean and Fiona but it is possible that the two might meet again. "Shameless" season 8 is speculated to return in October 2017 or January 2018.
