‘One Piece' Reveals Trailer, Character Designs For Supernova Arc

The anime series of “One Piece” is about to enter a new story arc. To give fans a preview of what the arc will be all about, a trailer was just released. Aside from that, the cast and new characters have also been revealed.

“One Piece” Supernova Arc Synopsis

The “One Piece” Supernova Arc is also referred to as the Marine Rookie Arc or Marine Supernova Arc. Supernovas are referred to the top rookie pirates from various crews and this includes Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro, who are part of the Straw Hats Pirates. Though the new arc features facts from the manga, the story is an anime-only original.

The Supernova Arc will reportedly commence as a bridge story after Luffy and his crew is on the move to save Sanji and his family on Whole Cake Island. Their mission in this arc is to infiltrate a marine forward base that has been keeping an eye on Charlotte, also known as Big Mom, one of the feared Yonkos. Hiroshi Oyama, a Toei Animation producer, revealed that they were able to create this arc by consulting with the original manga creator, Eiichiro Oda.

Supernova Arc Reveals New Characters

Of course, a new arc means there will be new characters, which were initially revealed in the visual that was released earlier. Natsuki Hanae will voice Grant, the Mohawk-haired devil fruit user who has a strong sense of justice. Hiroko Yasumoto will voice Bonam, the blue-haired huge man from the Longarm Tribe who is considered as the big brother in the group. Makoto Furukawa will voice Sappa, the white-haired dual weapon wielder.

The three aforementioned characters are used to be part of Aokiji’s unit and the Straw Hats Pirates come across them as they are resupplying rations in a nearby marine base island, turning the side trip into an infiltration mission. Youhei Tadano then will voice Vice Admiral Prodi, the old marine. Prodi is reportedly an old friend of Monkey D. Garp, who is a Marine vice admiral as well as Luffy’s grandfather. “One Piece” Supernova Arc will kick off on March 19.
