Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia X2 Premium, the tech company's latest and most advanced flagship smartphone that puts display and camera technology as the topmost priority. Still keeping with the signature sharp rectangular design of the traditional Xperia line, the X2 Premium brings in, as what Sony claims, the world's first 4K HDR display for a smartphone
The All New Xperia X2 Premium
These innovative features were clearly influenced by the Japanese company's work with its Bravia range of TVs. According to Silicon, alongside the sharp display, Sony is also aiming the X2 Premium to be the prime phone for capturing videos, with a camera that is able to capture videos at up to 960 frames per second, enabling for some highly detailed slow motion playbacks.

Specs-wise, the X2 Premium sports a 5.5-inch screen display, with the aforementioned 4K 2160×3840 resolution, all fitted into a chassis that features an eye-catching mirrored finish. The phone is also equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is the latest processor from the chipmaker. It is the that provides the power for the smartphone and, according to Sony, allows for up to 1GBPS of downloads speeds, courtesy of the integrated Snapdragon X16 LTE modem.
Storage and Battery
According to Know Your Mobile, the phone is also backed up by the 4GB worth of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also features quick charging, provided by USB Type-C to fill a 3230mAh battery, which is also incorporated with Sony's Smart Stamina system to accurately relay battery life based on the user's usual phone usage.
Other Notable Features
Other features would include a fingerprint scanner, which is integrated into the side-mounted power button, a microSD slot for added storage, and water and dust resistance rated up to the IP68 standard. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 should also ensure that the handset can withstand a few falls, bumps and scratches.
On the software side, the X2 Premium will be running Google's Android 7 Nougat, but with Sony's custom UI on top. Given the phone will officially be rolling out in late spring, we have yet to see a finalized version of Sony's latest Android creation.
