Google X Phone: Motorola XT1058 With AT&T Support Hits FCC Just In Time For A Possible Google I/O Reveal

The X Phone rumors just won't die down and now a new Motorola ZT1058 has passed through the FCC with AT&T support and the image in the documentation matches a previously leaked image we reported back in March. This is our first official glimpse of what the X Phone will possibly look like.

The FCC filing is for a Motorola smartphone that is going by the name XT1058, the X could be for the new name for the smartphone. We just reported that Motorola will reportedly be officially calling the "X Phone" the Motorola X and a second smartphone would be named Motorola X M. Some recent rumors have the smartphone being called the XFON. The XFON is a strong possibility when considering Motorola's naming conventions of all capitalized devices like its RAZR, DROID, and XYBOARD tablet brands.

Engadget is reporting that the Motorola XT1058 supports AT&T's 4G LTE network and also includes NFC. That is all the information that is currently being reported.

Google I/O kicks off on May 15 and runs through May 17. Google has typically shown off new versions of Android, Nexus smartphones, and unveiled the Nexus 7 tablet at last year's conference.  It's unclear if Google will show off Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, or an updated version of Android 4.X at the conference. The timing of the new Motorola smartphone hitting the FCC just in time for Google I/O might indicate that these new Motorola smartphones could also debut at Google's developer's conference.

We only have a few more days to go until we hear things officially from Google and might possibly put all of this X Phone speculation to rest once and for all.
