Dark Souls III Ringed City Launch Trailer Released; Spoilers And Theories Surface

Ashen ones, the hype train has spurred from the dark depths of Dark Soul ennui as the new launch trailer for The Ringed City is released. The Ringed City is the last DLC expansion of Bandai Namco's beloved Dark Souls III. Find out what's new about Dark Soul III: The Ringed City and check out some spoilers and favorite fan theories.

Dark Souls III: The Ringed City takes place in a land plagued with the aftermath of death and destruction. Players will expect to encounter new bosses, enemies, new armor and weapons, and added new spells to their arsenal. Everyone is excited, waiting in slow agony until the DLC's release that marks the end of the Dark Souls III saga.

The two and a half minute video graces players with glimpses of new enemies and equipment after showing an epic sequence of lore and goose bump-inducing nostalgia. According to GameSpot, there will be new PvP maps and a newly improved online matchmaking system. However, since the trailer started with a reference to a storyline found in the Ashes of Ariandel, Siliconera suggests completing Ashes or Ariandel before moving on to Dark Souls III: Ringed City.

High-quality screenshots of the new DLC Darks Souls III: The Ringed City were leaked and it takes fans into a sneak peek into probably relevant moments in the expansion. Along with the launch trailer, many fan theories surfaced over social media platforms particularly the part where Gwyn is seen crowning the Pygmy. AngeliclyAwesome123 wrote, "If I had to guess, it was to placate the Pygmy so he/they/it wouldn't pose an immediate threat to his reign. Knowing what we do about Gwyn, it is unlikely that he crowned the Pygmy out of goodwill."

One thing's for sure, though, whoever the furtive Pygmy is, fans can't wait for Dark Souls III: The Ringed City's release. The game launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March 28, Tuesday. The expansion will cost $15 and is also included in the season pass for $25 along with access to the first expansion Ashes of Ariandel.
