Destiny 2 Beta Announced; Pre-Orders Now Available Across All Supported Platforms

Following the announcement of the upcoming Destiny 2 game, Bungie revealed that it would first arrive as beta. The developer said that the game would have an expansive beta. That means all players are eligible to play regardless of the pre-order status. Though Bungie has not yet announced the official schedule of Destiny 2's beta, however, community manager DeeJ said that they are targeting a summer release.

According to Game Rant, Destiny 2 is planned for release this coming Sept. 8. With the said release date, fans of the franchise might receive tons of pre-launch action if the summer release of the beta is to be followed.

For players who choose to pre-order, the game receives an Early Beta Access. The Early Beta codes will be provided by the retailers, which can be redeemed on Bungie.net through a Bungie account. Players will then be notified through email whenever their download code is ready.

The beta for Destiny 2 will be available across all three slated platforms. Bungie also added that players are given freedom to choose their desired platforms to play the beta regardless of their pre-order choice. That means players who pre-order can select a platform after they receive the download code on Bungie.net. On the other hand, those other players who chose not to pre-order would just only pick a platform once the beta goes live.

It remains unclear if Bungie would offer more event for players to try out in this upcoming game. As recalled, the previous Destiny game had a single beta. However, the game also had an exclusive First Look Alpha to selected PlayStation 4 players. With Destiny 2's schedule, doing similar event would still fit. However, it is believed that making the second beta is not necessary.

The first game's beta run has been a successful. It is possible that Bungie is planning something big for this upcoming sequel. Destiny 2 is projected to be released on Sept. 8 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, players can now pre-order the game via participating retailers.
