'Rick And Morty' Season 3 Updates: No New Episodes Coming This Month; Installment Yet To Continue In Summer

"Rick and Morty" fans were surely surprised to see an episode aired on April Fool's day yet they might again be disappointed to learn about the show going into a break. The hit cartoon show will not air new episodes until summer. The break was revealed through an announcement trailer posted online which was later confirmed through the show's social media account.

After almost two years of waiting for the new installment, fans of "Rick and Morty" will again have to wait for another two months or so to see the full episode season 3 of the show. The Adult Swim Facebook page posted the announcement about the break that the rest of the episodes are yet to be released during the summer. Apparently, the premiere that was aired on April 1 was only to give the fans a taste of the cartoon show's third installment.

There is no definite date yet picked for the official release of "Rick and Morty" season 3 but summer return might mean that it would air new episodes as early as June. Unfortunately, the season extends through August which might be the latest schedule for "Rick and Morty's" come back. Season 2 premiered in July 2015 hence, fans are expecting to get the same air date this year.

To keep fans invigorated though, Adult Swim is repeatedly airing the epic season opener every night at 10 p.m. this week. It can be recalled that the website surprisingly aired "The Rickshank Rickdemption" last Saturday which most fans thought was an April Fool's special. It was later revealed though that the story was the real deal.

"Rick and Morty" opened its season 3 with a hilarious episode but one detail might have twisted the minds of the audience. There was a past theory that Rick was actually Morty's grown up version and it has once again become so relevant through the surprise episode. While the duo was passing through Citadel of Ricks where a number of their versions were in the background, a distinguishable image of a combined Rick and Morty was seen.

Although the character might only be an extraterrestrial version of Rick or Morty, some fans did not let go of the possibility that it was a younger version Rick or an older version of Morty. This, of course, remains a theory until the show explores the possibility.

"Rick and Morty" will continue to share mockery and laughter "later this summer" according to Adult Swim.
