Ford's Smart Baby Crib Mimics Moving Car Motions To Rock Infants To Sleep

Its clientele knows that Ford is an auto brand that can be relied on for quality, durable cars. But the automaker has recently embarked on a project that still has something to do with cars with babies in their mind. No, it's not a car little tots can drive around in the house. It is one that they can get into and rock them to sleep. Yes, it is a smart baby crib.

Many a passenger has fallen asleep at the backseat of a car during a long drive and babies are one them. Infants strapped in their baby seats, especially, are more susceptible to the lulling motions of a moving car. And with the blurred scenery and the subtle hum of the engine, they fall asleep fast. Inspired, and armed with that knowledge, Ford went to work on something that is atypical of them: a smart baby crib.

The car company dubbed it the Max Motor Dreams, and rightly so. The smart baby crib is outfitted with LED lights that give a soft street light glow and speakers at the bottom that plays ambient engine noise. Ford's latest invention also mimics the vibration and the rocking motion a human can experience in the backseat of the moving car. Furthermore, unlike other smart beds or cribs, it has an app that allows the parent or guardian to map the route for a more authentic car experience for the baby. The crib will make the baby feel like it is riding in a car, even though the crib does not actually move. And with all those things combined, a fussy infant is sure to go to sleep in minutes.

Parents who have suffered many sleepless nights are going to want this smart baby crib. Unfortunately, the innovation is not available for the public and is not likely to see mass production anytime soon. Ford will have to gauge public interest before they put their money on making more of this avant-garde baby rocker.

However, Ford España has decided to give away the one and only smart baby crib the company has. But to be able to enter their names for the sweepstakes, parents, soon-to-be parents and wannabe parents will have to go the nearest car dealer and take the Ford Max out for a test drive.
