Samsung Galaxy S4 For $54.99 On Cricket

Samsung's latest flagship, the Galaxy S4, is flying high after crossing the 10 million units sold in less than a month milestone. While carrier's like AT&T are gearing up to launch the "Aurora Red" colored variant of the smartphone, another U.S. carrier Cricket Wireless is set to release the Galaxy S4 on June 7 for just $54.99.

"The Galaxy S4 redefines the smartphone and we are very proud to offer our customers the highest level of wireless technology on the market," Matt Stoiber, senior vice president of devices for Cricket said. "Cricket's three smartphone rate plans start as low as $45 per month and give customers value-packed choices for the plan that's right for them with unlimited music included."

But what's so special about the Cricket variant of the Galaxy S4 you ask? Well, the pre-paid carrier is offering the cheapest price for the top-end smartphone. If you've been shopping around for the best available deal for the Galaxy S4, then Cricket could well become numero uno on your list.

Cricket is offering the Galaxy S4 for an affordable upfront cost of just $54.99! Sound's too good to be true? Well, there is a catch. While this jaw dropping price is less than the next-best available deal of $154.99 on T-Mobile, there are two catches.

Firstly, this deal is only available for "qualified customers," which means you'll need to pass a credit check. Secondly, be prepared to shell out an additional monthly device charge (similar to T-Mobile's monthly payment plan).

At this juncture it is not known what the monthly fee from Cricket will be and for how long consumers would need to pay the charges. However, going by the fact that the suggested retail price of the smartphone is $599.99, the installments are unlikely to be cheap.

With June 7 not too far away, Cricket will soon unveil the charges. You can also pick up the Galaxy S4 on Cricket's 3G all-inclusive smartphone rate plans, which start at $50.
