Nintendo Files Mysterious Trademark Hinting At A Bowser Game

Nintendo has filed for a trademark that hints at a potential Bowser game under development. Could this potential title make its way to the Nintendo Switch?

Potential Bowser Game Following Recent Trademark

According to a local Japanese website, Nintendo has recently filed a trademark called "Koopa" for a number of uses including clothes and a "program for home video game console." This trademark was created back on Feb. 24 with the company still silent regarding what it officially plans to do with this. However, these signs easily point to a new Bowser game on the way that may or may not be for the Nintendo Switch.

Bowser himself is the King of the Koopas and serves as the main antagonist in the Mario franchise. Koopas are creatures that share similarities to the turtles, hence Bowser's large shell. The villain himself has been included in plenty of spinoff games like Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart where he is a playable character.

Nintendo Collaborates For A New Mario RPG

Incidentally, the company is also working on a Mario and Rabbids RPG for the hybrid console, as per VG247. This crossover game has supposedly been under development for some time now and will be released around August or September.

The official title is Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and is built on Massive's Snowdrop engine, which is the same one behind The Division. The game is rumored to be a turn-based RPG that supports two-players in local co-op. Familiar faces like Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi will be starring in the upcoming game. Some concept art even featured Mario and his friend wielding laser beams that should make for some interesting gameplay.

However, Nintendo has yet to formally announce anything related to this project. It seems like fans will have to wait for further updates regarding this and a potential Bowser game in the future. Those who are still searching for a hybrid console may be in luck as the company is continuing to ship out more copies.
