Nintendo is boosting up its production order of the most in demand console, the Switch system. This decision is ahead of the increased demand anticipated during the 2017 holiday shopping season. For the record, the Nintendo Switch sold extremely great following its launch in March.

It’s been very difficult to find the Nintendo Switch in stores before they sell out, as reported by The Verge. The Japanese multinational gaming firm already reportedly boosted its Switch production order in March. In fact, it has been reported that the company is aiming to generate at least 16 million consoles this financial year.

Today, Nintendo appears to be aiming to produce at least 18 million units between this month and March 2018, citing worries of “customer tantrums” during the last holiday season. According to reports, it has been noted that Nintendo has denied that it had projected "to boost production to that level, sticking to its official hardware shipment target of 10” million units. However, analysts believe that the Kyoto-based company intends on track to produce upwards of twice that quantity.

As reported by Engadget, increasing the number of the Switch consoles out there would absolutely help with the demand of the customers. Aside from that, Nintendo has also seen a series of shortages with the latest gaming unit and its now discontinued NES Classic. Therefore, the production boost, as well as the stock increase, could mean problems on the production side.

The Financial Times notes that the tech giant could face supply shortages, especially on some unexpected deficiencies such as the LCD screens the company uses. This plan on production boost is expected to mean that some customers, especially those gamers, might expect to get their hands on their own device sometime this year. Soon, there will be online and physical shops that will retail the Nintendo Switch so gamers should stand by.
