New 'Overwatch' Hint Reveals More About Lunar Map

Blizzard has shared new Overwatch clues that hint about an upcoming lunar map. Meanwhile, here is everything fans need to know about the upcoming competitive season.

It seems like Blizzard is finally ready to reveal more information about the upcoming major map. Previously determined info has already hinted towards a lunar space setting, and it seems like the rumors about this were true. The game's official blog was updated with a short history of the Horizon Lunar Colony, as per PVP Live.

The specific focus was on the Lucheng Interstellar which is possibly a Chinese corporation that has ties with Lijiang Tower. In line with this, the control point map was recently updated with blueprints of the Horizon colony when Blizzard patched in the anniversary event.

In the current Overwatch lore, the colony was quickly overrun by intelligent apes with Winston hailing from that area. The blog post shares that both he and a "smaller" specimen named Hammond have gone missing. While one is accounted for, there has been no update to who or what Hammond is doing.

That aside, the new competitive season will be live soon after its two-day break. GameSpot shares that those who managed to clear their placements in Season 4 will earn a good number of Competitive Points (CP) they can use in exchange for golden weapons.

The same mechanic will most likely be implemented in the coming season with more rewards on the way. While the theme for Season 4 was Hanamura, it seems like the upcoming season will highlight Numbani. In line with the previous events, the upcoming season might also reward players with a special spray and player icon for competing.

For now, fans will just have to wait for further news about the upcoming Overwatch map and upcoming competitive season. Those who want to play the first-person shooter can get a copy for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
